BASE Slovenia Motorcycle Tour

Welcome to Slovenia — a small country with an outsized soul, perfectly positioned at the crossroads of the

Alps, the Mediterranean, and Central Europe. This is where a motorcycle tour becomes something more than

just a ride: it becomes a daily adventure without compromise.

Based for six nights in a carefully selected hotel in Slovenia, you’ll unpack once and ride free. Every morning

you fire up your engine knowing that today’s destination is different — another country, another culture,

another set of unforgettable roads. Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia lie within easy reach, allowing you to

experience multiple countries while enjoying the comfort of a single home BASE. Less packing. More riding.

Pure freedom.

Slovenia itself is a rider’s dream. Empty, flowing backroads carve through emerald valleys, alpine passes and

vineyard-covered hills. One moment you’re climbing into the Julian Alps, skirting crystal-clear rivers like the

Soča and passing Lake Bled’s storybook scenery; a few hours later you’re descending toward the Adriatic,

where Venetian-inspired coastal towns welcome you with salt air and espresso. Every ride delivers variety,

rhythm and roads that beg to be ridden again.

This is Europe without the crowds — clean, green, welcoming and authentic. You’ll taste hearty local cuisine,

discover hidden villages, and enjoy the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. The riding is

smooth, technical where it should be, playful where it counts, and endlessly rewarding.

This tour is designed for riders who want it all: legendary roads, multiple countries, cultural richness and zero

logistical stress. Wake up rested, ride all day, return to comfort — and do it again, each day in a new

direction.

If there is such a thing as a motorcycle playground, this is it.

Slovenia isn’t just the BASE — it’s the key that unlocks all of Europe.

Day 1: Arrival to Slovenia

Welcome to Slovenia, a small yet incredibly diverse country where the Alps, Mediterranean, forests, and

charming towns meet. Upon arrival, you’ll head to your designated hotel, your comfortable base for the

entire tour. Here you’ll meet the BASE team and your fellow riders, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

The day is relaxed and well-organized: a friendly introduction, a clear tour briefing, completion of

paperwork, and motorcycle allocation ensure everyone is ready and confident for the journey. The

atmosphere is easygoing and social—perfect for getting to know the group, settling in, and enjoying your first

taste of Slovenia’s calm, green surroundings before the engines start and the road calls tomorrow.

Day 2: Ride to Italy: Karst Region & the Coastal Road

The journey begins as we roll out of the Ljubljana Basin, a green, open valley surrounded by gentle hills,

heading southwest toward the wild beauty of the Karst Region, known for its rocky landscapes, vineyards,

and hidden caves. Riding through flowing roads, we reach Most na Soči, a peaceful riverside town where

turquoise waters meet mountain scenery, before continuing to Goriza, a border city blending Italian and

Central European culture. Crossing into Italy road then leads us to Trieste, a historic Adriatic port city where

Italy meets Central Europe, shaped by Habsburg grandeur, a multi-cultural identity, one of Europe’s

largest natural harbors, and a legendary coffee culture, all set between the Karst cliffs and the sea.

Perfect place for a proper Italian lunch. In the afternoon, we follow the stunning Adriatic coastal road, with

sea views and salty air, passing through Koper, a lively Slovenian coastal town with Venetian character,

before returning to our BASE hotel, full of impressions from our first international riding day.

Day 3: Alpine Adventure: Slovenia & Austria

Today we embrace the Alpine spirit, crossing Slovenia’s mountains via Jezersko, a picturesque highland

valley framed by rugged peaks. The ride continues into Austria, passing Faak am See, famous for hosting

Europe’s largest annual Harley-Davidson gathering, before winding through the scenic Koren Pass

(Korenško Sedlo) back into Slovenia. We stop in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia’s most famous ski resort town,

surrounded by towering Alpine peaks, and take a moment at the serene Jasna Lake, its emerald waters

perfectly reflecting the mountains. The journey then climbs the highest Slovenian mountain road via Vršič,

with 1611m the highest Slovenian mountain pass, leading to Bovec and the breathtaking Soča River Valley,

known for its vivid turquoise river and stunning landscapes. After a day of alpine curves, rivers, and iconic

mountain scenery, we return to our BASE hotel, hearts full of adventure and eyes full of some of Slovenia’s

most spectacular natural beauty.

Day 4: Explore Slovenia Highlights: Lake Bled & Postojna Cave

Today we dive into two of Slovenia’s most iconic destinations. Our first stop is Lake Bled, a picture-perfect

alpine lake crowned by a charming island with its historic church, surrounded by forested hills and the

medieval Bled Castle perched above the water—truly a scene straight from a storybook. Later, we venture

underground to Postojna Cave, one of the world’s largest and most spectacular karst caves, where

stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and underground halls create an unforgettable natural spectacle.

This day blends serene lake beauty and awe-inspiring subterranean wonders, giving a perfect taste of

Slovenia’s remarkable landscapes before returning to our BASE hotel.

Day 5: Ride to Hungary: Rolling Plains & Thermal Spas

Today we leave the mountains behind and ride across Slovenia’s gentle rolling plains, passing through

Celje, a historic town with medieval charm, and Ptuj, one of Slovenia’s oldest towns, steeped in Roman

history. Crossing into Hungary, we reach Lenti, a peaceful town known for its thermal spas, where we enjoy

a typical Hungarian lunch and a taste of local flavors. On the return, we stop at the Vinarium Tower near

Lendava, offering panoramic views across the vineyard-covered hills and flatlands, before heading to

Vransko to explore the world-famous Grom Motorcycle Museum, a treasure trove for motorcycle

enthusiasts. After a day of plains, culture, and motorcycles, we ride back to our BASE hotel, filled with

stories of the Hungarian countryside and Slovenia’s hidden gems.

Day 6: Ride to Croatia: Emerald Rivers & Adriatic Coast

Today’s ride takes us through southeastern Slovenia, weaving past the forested hills of Kočevje, before

crossing into Croatia near Delnice in the Gorski Kotar region, known for its lush mountains, emerald rivers,

and dense forests.

We pass by the Grobnik Racetrack, the largest and most famous racing circuit in the area, a thrill for any

motorsport enthusiast, before descending to the coastal charm of Opatija, a historic seaside town on the

Adriatic, famed for its elegant promenade, beautiful villas, and sparkling sea views.

The return journey winds along southern Slovenian countryside roads, offering quiet landscapes, rolling

hills, and a perfect end to a day that blends rivers, mountains, racing, and the Adriatic coast, before arriving

back at our BASE hotel.

Day 7: Farewell Slovenia & Departure

Our adventure comes to a close as we say goodbye to Slovenia. Over the past week, we’ve also explored

Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia, riding through alpine passes, rolling plains, historic towns, and the

Adriatic coast. It’s been a journey of stunning landscapes, winding roads, and great camaraderie. As you

depart, take with you the freedom of the open road, the joy of discovery, and the memories of an

unforgettable ride across four countries.
