Royal Capitals of Central Europe 2026

Royal Tour in Royal Style! Ride 7 best royal capitals of Central Europe in Royal Style. Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Salzburg, Cesky Krumlov, Prague, Krakow.

One of the biggest allures of Old Central Europe is its rich history, filled with kingdoms, knights, legends and splendor of royal castles.

The territory of Central Europe used to be mainly part of The Austro-Hungarian Empire, the second biggest empire in Europe and the world’s third largest economy at the turn of the 20thcentury. Being such a powerful and modern country at the time, the Empire’s monarchs built lavish castles, carefully planned regional capitals with contemporary architecture and vast and modern road infrastructure.

The royal journey starts in the Empire’s second capital – delightful Budapest, now capital of Hungary.  By cruising on the old roads built in the imperial time, we’ll connect the string of pearls through five countries with city visits of Bratislava, Vienna, Salzburg and Krakow, and many more tiny and charming towns of the old Empire. Accommodation will be world class, nothing short of five star hotels built in old world style. If we travel like kings and sleep like queens then it’s only appropriate to dine like royal too, in traditional wood cladded restaurants and beer breweries with a hundreds year old history.

Even though we’ll be riding motorcycles, there is no need to hurry. The world and time will slow down for us, so you can better soak in the unmistakable old European atmosphere. In this two-week experience will make you feel like modern royalty.

Day 1: Arrival Budapest

Your adventure begins in Budapest, the majestic capital of Hungary, where the Danube divides the regal hills of Buda from the vibrant streets of Pest. After settling into your hotel, take a stroll through the historic center where the echoes of the Austro-Hungarian Empire still linger in the architecture and atmosphere. The view from Fisherman’s Bastion, overlooking the illuminated Chain Bridge and the Parliament Building, is a breathtaking introduction to Central Europe’s splendor. In the evening, a dinner cruise along the Danube offers a first taste of royal elegance and Hungarian warmth — a fitting prelude to the days of adventure ahead.

Day 2: Budapest - Bratislava

Leaving Budapest, the road winds along the Danube Bend, offering a perfect blend of curves, river views, and medieval fortresses perched on hilltops. Riders will enjoy the flowing rhythm of the road through Esztergom and Komárno before crossing into Slovakia. The ride is smooth, scenic, and filled with history at every turn. Arriving in Bratislava, you’re greeted by a compact capital that exudes charm — a city once ruled by Hungarian kings and queens who were crowned in St. Martin’s Cathedral. The hilltop castle watches over the river, while cobblestone streets below invite an evening of relaxed exploration, wine, and laughter in cozy taverns.

Day 3: Bratislava - Vienna

Today’s ride follows the Danube northward, a short but beautiful journey through vineyards and gentle countryside where Austria’s imperial influence begins to show. The approach into Vienna feels like entering a grand movie set — baroque palaces, stately boulevards, and the refined aura of the Habsburg dynasty. Once in the city, you’ll feel transported to another era. The scent of coffee and pastries fills elegant cafés, and horse-drawn carriages clatter past opera houses and royal residences. Vienna invites you to slow down, indulge, and soak in the imperial elegance that made it one of Europe’s great capitals.

Day 4: Vienna Rest day

Vienna deserves to be savored. This is your day to explore its imperial heart — the opulent Schönbrunn Palace, once the summer residence of Empress Sisi, the Hofburg Palace complex, and the stately Ringstrasse that circles the old city. The morning might begin with a rich Viennese coffee and a slice of Sacher Torte, and perhaps end with an evening concert of Mozart and Strauss. For those who wish to keep the wheels turning, a scenic ride through the Vienna Woods offers gentle curves, vineyard stops, and panoramic views before returning for a traditional dinner in a cozy wine tavern.

Day 5: Vienna - Salzburg

Leaving the grandeur of Vienna behind, the route west unfolds through the heart of Austria. Riders will delight in the smaller country roads paralleling the Danube, lined with castles, monasteries, and the rolling green fields of the Wachau Valley. As the mountains draw nearer, the scenery transforms into lakes and alpine meadows — a postcard view at every turn. Arriving in Salzburg, you’ll find yourself in Mozart’s hometown, where music seems to hang in the air. The baroque old town, crowned by Hohensalzburg Fortress, is a masterpiece of elegance, while the local taverns and riverside cafés invite a relaxed evening beneath the fortress lights.

Day 6: Salzburg - Česky Krumlov

The road north crosses the Austrian highlands and slips quietly into the Czech Republic. This is a day of winding forest roads, gentle mountain passes, and tranquil countryside — pure riding pleasure. Your destination, Český Krumlov, feels like stepping into a medieval fairytale. The town curls around a slow river, and its mighty castle stands as a reminder of Bohemia’s noble past. As evening falls, you can wander through cobblestone alleys, dine beside the water, and watch the sunset paint the rooftops in shades of gold and rose.

Day 7: Cesky Krumlov - Prague

Today’s ride leads through the peaceful landscapes of South Bohemia, a region of ponds, meadows, and winding roads that seem made for motorcycles. The pace is easy and relaxed, letting you enjoy the ride and the scenery alike. Approaching Prague, the grandeur of the Czech capital unfolds before you. Known as the “City of a Hundred Spires,” Prague is a living museum of Gothic, baroque, and Renaissance architecture. Crossing the Charles Bridge at sunset, with street musicians playing softly in the distance, is an experience that stays with you long after the journey ends.

Day 8: Prague Rest day

A day of exploration in Prague feels like traveling through time. From the vast Prague Castle complex to the towering spires of St. Vitus Cathedral and the colorful Old Town Square, every corner tells a story of kings, emperors, and revolutionaries. The ladies will enjoy the elegant boutiques and charming cafés, while riders can take an optional spin through the countryside to the Gothic town of Kutná Hora. As night falls, Prague transforms into a city of lights and reflections — perfect for a jazz cruise on the Vltava or a romantic dinner overlooking the castle.

Day 9: Prague - Olomouc

Leaving Prague behind, you ride east through the Moravian countryside, a landscape of fertile plains and quiet villages framed by distant hills. The roads are open and flowing, offering a perfect rhythm between throttle and thought. By afternoon, you reach Olomouc, a hidden gem often called “the small Prague.” Once a royal Moravian capital, it boasts grand squares, baroque fountains, and the UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column. The relaxed pace of life here, combined with fine Moravian wines and traditional hospitality, makes for a peaceful and enriching evening.

Day 10: Olomouc - Krakow

The route into Poland is rich with character — rolling hills, forests, and border roads that invite a spirited ride. As you near Krakow, the landscape softens into open plains leading to one of Europe’s most beautiful and historic cities. Krakow, the royal capital of Poland for centuries, still carries the elegance of its past with pride. Wawel Castle, perched above the Vistula River, tells tales of kings and legends, while the Main Market Square buzzes with energy. As night falls, the city’s old Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz, comes alive with music, candlelight, and the warm clink of glasses raised to new adventures.

Day 11: Krakow Rest day

Krakow is a city that demands time. Begin your day with a walk through Wawel Hill and its cathedral, once the coronation site of Polish monarchs. Explore the medieval heart of the city, where the sound of horse hooves and church bells mingle in timeless rhythm. For those seeking depth, optional excursions to the Wieliczka Salt Mine or Auschwitz offer profound insight into history. The day closes best with a carriage ride through the illuminated streets or dinner beneath Gothic arches in the heart of the old town — moments that capture the soul of Poland.

Day 12: Krakow - Košice

Today’s ride carries you south through the Carpathian foothills, a region of untamed beauty and winding mountain roads. Riders will relish the rhythmic bends and cool forest air as you cross back into Slovakia. By afternoon, you descend into Košice, a city that wears its history proudly. Once part of the Hungarian crown lands, it is now Slovakia’s eastern jewel, blending Gothic, Renaissance, and Art Nouveau architecture in perfect harmony. The Main Street promenade, lined with cafés and framed by the stunning St. Elisabeth Cathedral, sets the stage for a relaxed and celebratory evening.

Day 13: Kosice - Budapest

The final day on the road is a satisfying one — a ride through open countryside and rolling fields that gently guide you back toward Budapest. It’s a reflective journey, the kind of ride where every curve feels like a memory and every stop reminds you of the royal capitals you’ve conquered. Arriving once more in Budapest, you return full circle to where your adventure began. A farewell dinner overlooking the Danube brings laughter, stories, and toasts to the road — to friendship, freedom, and the unforgettable rhythm of the journey.

Day 14: Departure Budapest

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye — or perhaps not quite yet. Those with a little more time may linger in Budapest’s famous thermal baths or explore the Danube Bend one last time. The royal capitals and the roads between them may fade behind you, but the memories — the sound of the engine, the laughter shared, and the beauty witnessed — will ride with you forever.
